A Relaxed Boho Inspired Wedding Weekend
Today marks one year since I & S’s epic wedding weekend at Horlsey Hale. To celebrate their one-year anniversary we are looking back at their beautiful day at which we were luck enough to cater, style and coordinate.
I & S and their Event Manager Millie
I & S’s wedding saw the celebrations span across a long weekend with guests travelling from across the world. The London based couple wanted a family focused wedding that celebrated their love for each other and felt relaxed and welcoming for their 180 guests.
Held at the beautiful Horsley Hale, the venue offered the perfect countryside retreat for the celebration to take place. Paddocks complete with bell tents and an outdoor kitchen for guests to stay in over the weekend, a beautiful wedding paddock for a large marquee, and breath-taking lake which was the perfect spot for the drinks reception.
When the couple first met with our team, they where unsure of quite how they wanted the day to be structured. They knew however, they didn’t want it to feel to regimented and the most important thing was that their guests felt welcomed and relaxed. It was to be simple and effortless in its design, nothing was too fussy or forced and the end result was a weekend which flowed from perfect moment to perfect moment with the coordination from our team.
The couple opted for a sharing style for their wedding breakfast to help give a relaxed and informal feel.
When selecting their menu, again they were unsure of specifically what they wanted to serve however loved the idea of sharing and a more informal style. Our team worked with the couple to find out about their likes and dislikes, really getting to know them, and they were then able to design a bespoke menu for the weekend. This meant the food was completely personal to them, for example, as I was originally from Greece, the starter was the perfect opportunity to give a special nod to this, with the couple opting for a Greek meze style sharing platter for their guests.
We also helped to style the day and provided lots of props and accessories from our prop shop. Although the event had a relaxed and informal style it was still vital that it still had a cohesive design. We provided candles for the tables and our floristry team styled these with fresh foliage. We also styled the drinks reception tables and grazing stations and cake table with foliage to help tie the look together.
When thinking about the ceremony I and S where unsure of where to hold this. They were considering a ceremony by lake but also like the tree lined alley. At the site visit their Event Manager Millie walked through both spaces with them and suggested that by styling the tree lined alley this could create a more intimate ceremony space. The result was incredible, the trees created a a natural space for the aisle and ceremony to take place, it felt peaceful and intimate. It also helped to provide a journey for the guests and meant their was a beautiful moment after the ceremony where the guests saw the lake for the first time and continued to see new beautiful parts of the venue.
Here are some beautiful pictures, captured by our team over the weekend...
