English Country Garden Meets Boho at The Granary Estates | Hall & Co. Event Design
With all our clients from day one they have a dedicated event manager who will handle the enquiry through the entire wedding planning process right up to set up and on the day of the wedding. We like to give that personal touch and love getting to know our couples! I was lucky enough to hear from N & M who got in touch 10 months before the big day after booking The Granary Estates, Newmarket. They loved the English countryside living in London and our bride’s family being from Puerto Rico they knew this was the perfect venue for them. We chatted over email for a couple of weeks, had a phone call and arranged a one-to-one meeting to discuss all our services as they were looking for planning assistance, floristry, styling and catering for the big day.
Our personal meetings are a chance to understand the priorities of the day, the vison, loves and dislikes of an event from every detail including colour palettes, menu options and fashion! This is one of my favourite parts of wedding planning with couples as they arrive as almost strangers but leave bursting with unique ideas and a new found friendship. N & M were a cool, calm, well-travelled, stylish couple which was shown off on the day as N wore Vera Wang and M a sharp three-piece navy suit which suited the wedding vibe to a T!
The next stage of planning with Hall & Co is a proposal after the discussion of ideas to really pull everything together and as professionals we iron out the logistics and create bespoke ideas to bring a couple’s vision to life. N & M also had a separate floristry meeting to chat with our in-house floristry team to create an epic multi-purpose floral installation with the couple’s favourite colours, flowers & textures. Our in-house florist Jo S went into great detail pulling the vision together with Pinterest boards galore followed by a personal floristry proposal. They wanted romance, wow factor and to bring the outdoors in. Jo did this by creating a luxurious, free flowing, wild Pampas garden dawned with peachy tones and endless greenery…it was incredible! The lead up is a huge team task with flower prep, installations, moving flowers, deliveries to reach the final design on the day of the wedding. Flowers are so worth stretching the budget for if you can as they make such a difference to any wedding venue to add that personal stamp!
Food was also a huge part of the day and they picked a delicious tasting menu paired with some bespoke menu ideas that our Head Chef Dom created for them. The menu tasting is another great opportunity to get to know our couples on a personal level as they enjoy food and discuss more details with not only their wedding planner but someone who is a part of the catering team so knowledgeable on all thing’s food! Over 100 of the couple’s friends and families celebrated the day with them and enjoyed canapes, a 3-course plated wedding breakfast to reflect the stylish side to our couple as if in a trendy London restaurant but actually in a rustic barn.
From a Team Hall & Co point of view, this wedding was a huge set up. 3 days of flower prep, 7 members for the wedding morning to install and deliver everything, 10 members of staff for the day and 2 teamies to pack down the day after! Every wedding we do in a huge team effort and usually a 3-day set up, event and take down to ensure the couple have everything taken care of and the best day ever!
